Description

Fresh pineapple, preserved lemon, lime, quince and hints of salty seabreeze. Summer in a glass, this wine is an absolute delight and will continue to give as it ages. Delicate lemon and a salty tang with fine acidity and just a hint of phenolics which draws you back for more. An absolute cracker.

Sourced from Treeton Estate, the fruit was harvested in February during an extrodinarily early vintage. The grapes were pressed directly to seasoned oak for wild fermentation. The barrels were stirred periodically and monitored once primary ferment was complete. A small amount of malolactic fermentation took place before all fermentation was halted using an addition of sulphur dioxide. The wine was matured in oak for 9 months with periodic stirring to build texture.

About the name: ‘Golden Child" is another reference to my sister, who learnt what not to do by watching all my mistakes, especially when we were teenagers. She learnt all the tricks and had Mum and Dad wrapped around her little finger!

A small amount of malolactic fermentation took place before all fermentation was halted using an addition of sulphur dioxide. The wine was matured in oak for 9 months with periodic stirring to build texture. No fining, stabilised and filtered for bottling.
