"Murder in the Dark" Malbec 2024

Murder in the Dark is a deeply coloured wine that jumps out of the glass with mulberry, plum, violets, cocoa and bayleaf characters. The wine is velvety and mouthfilling with dark berry flavours, plush, ripe, chocolately with slightly chalky tannins. It will age gracefully over the next 10 years.

About the name: Murder in the Dark was a game my sister and I used to play with our friends and holds many happy memories for me.

The Malbec was sourced from the picturesque region of Ferguson Valley, around the corner from Gnomesville, Geographe. The miniscule parcel of fruit was picked and placed straight into upended oak puncheons for ferment over two weeks. Once ferment finished, the fruit was bucketed out and pressed using a basket press, back into new and seasoned puncheons for secondary fermentation and maturation. The wine was stirred and topped periodically over 15 months before being bottled.
